Answers to the questions Amazon sellers ask us most about storage costs, AWD, 3PLs and how we work.
Getting Started
How does the free Storage Costs Audit work?
It starts with a free intro call about your storage and shipping costs. Book a call and fill in the short survey about your account so we understand your situation. After the call, we review your FBA, AWD and 3PL costs and walk you through where you can save.
How soon will I get my audit review?
After your free Storage Costs Audit intro call, the audit review usually takes 1 to 2 weeks.
What are the ways I can work with you, and what does it cost?
We start with a free discovery call, which is also where we discuss hands-on service. Hourly Consulting is $250 per hour or 5 hours for $1,000, and you can book a paid one-hour consulting call on our Calendly. Advisory Support is 0.5% to 1.00% of revenue. Full-Service Logistics is 0.75% to 2% of revenue, depending on complexity and size.
How long is the contract, and what do you need from me to get started?
Our standard agreement has an initial minimum term of six months, then renews automatically in three-month terms unless either side gives 30 days’ written notice. If there is no measurable improvement in your storage and shipping costs as a percentage of revenue after the first three months, you can end the agreement. To get started, you give us access to your Seller Central account and provide your product data. We confirm the exact terms with you before you sign.
Do you only work with private label sellers?
No. We work with wholesale sellers too, not only private label sellers.
Lowering FBA and AWD Costs
How can I lower my storage and placement fees, especially in Q4?
Start by booking the free Storage Costs Audit intro call and filling in the short survey so we understand your account. Our analysis then shows where you can save across importing, warehousing, shipping and product sizing.
Will moving inventory into AWD save me money compared to FBA, and which products suit it?
It can. AWD can reduce FBA storage and placement costs, but it has had capacity limits and receiving delays at times. Whether it fits your account, and which of your products suit it, is something we look at together on a free Storage Costs Audit intro call, where we pick strategies with you.
Can you help with AWD setup, auto-replenishment and stranded inventory?
Yes. On consulting calls, we set up AWD auto-replenishment thresholds and work through issues like stranded inventory. Troubleshooting takes a call where we can dig into your account rather than guess.
What should I do if I can’t get domestic shipments into AWD?
AWD has had periods of storage capacity limits and receiving delays when domestic inbound was effectively blocked. During those times, we recommend optimizing your direct-to-FBA shipping and getting structurally ready to use AWD. Sending international shipments direct to AWD has been possible, but it is risky without flexibility on timing. Conditions change, so book a call and we will check the current status with you.
Can packaging, case pack sizes or product sizing lower my fees?
Yes. Smaller packaging can lower FBA fees, so on calls we look at your packaging dimensions, case pack sizes and multi-pack options. Product sizing is one of the areas our analysis covers when we look for savings.
3PLs, Warehousing and Shipping
Should I use AWD, a 3PL or my own warehouse, and can you help me decide?
Yes. Whether you are weighing AWD, a 3PL, or keeping or closing your own warehouse, we dig into your situation and options. We can work as a managed service, becoming part of your team to the degree you need, or through paid consulting calls as needed. Start with a free discovery call.
Can you help me find a 3PL or a freight forwarder?
Yes. We help sellers evaluate 3PLs and will contact them on your behalf about product fit, integrations, WMS and order processing. For overseas freight, we suggest getting LCL quotes from carriers, freight forwarders or brokers. Keep in mind that a 3PL may not be cost-effective if you do not have a bulk storage need.
I’m a new seller with product made overseas. What’s the cheapest way to get my first shipment into Amazon?
Send us your unit dimensions and weight, plus your supplier’s master carton dimensions, so we can optimize that first shipment. Build your listings first, then enter your supplier’s address in Seller Central under “Send to Amazon” to see a shipment plan. Bring that plan to a free discovery call and we will work from there.
Can you help me sell internationally?
Yes. Start by looking at Amazon’s program options for the marketplace you want to enter, and check your account there for a sea shipping option. If there isn’t one, use a carrier, freight forwarder or broker and get LCL quotes. Then book a free discovery call so we can talk through your plan. We can also help Canadian sellers grow in the US.
I’m a Canadian seller. Can you help me grow in the US?
Yes, we can help Canadian sellers like you grow in the US.
More About Us
Do you work remotely, or can someone come to my warehouse?
Our services are remote. We streamline operations across your platforms and communication channels, and we handle shipping plans into Amazon through the online portals, including the planning, structuring and paperwork.
Do you run your own warehouse or 3PL?
Not currently, though we may get into the 3PL business in the future. For now, we help sellers evaluate 3PLs that fit their products.
Do you also help with Walmart and WFS?
We have done limited recent WFS work. The first step is listing your products, which is more cumbersome than on Amazon. For most sellers there is more to gain by optimizing Amazon first, but a recognized brand can make Walmart worth setting up.
Do you partner with 3PLs, agencies and other service providers?
Yes. We are open to working relationships with 3PLs and agencies that benefit both sides. Book a 30-minute meeting with us to talk it through.
